Angela Weichel - Artist Statement - "I paint for the truth in the beauty of each scene that simply makes me want to be there. I am inspired by everyday subjects and colours that can come to life on my canvas."
Biography:
Angela Weichel is a local, self taught artist based out of Langley, BC.
Born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, she moved with her parents and seven siblings to British Columbia in 1996.
During high school, she had an opportunity to mimic a painting by the famous Paul Cezanne on a ceiling tile in the school's hallway. This sparked her interest in still life and inspired her to continue painting after graduating in 2005. Her paintings now include a variety of wild life, landscapes, still life, and portraits. These works are inspired by beautiful scenery, structures, and faces that tell a deeper story behind them.
Since taking acrylic painting more seriously in the past few years, Angela has grown more passionate about sharing her work in people's homes, local shows and galleries.
